- bMother's age at my DOB is 21 [thus born around 1941]
- bFather's age at my DOB is 23 [born 1939-1940]

Got name SANDRA STRICKLAND from my aMother who had peeked into the adoption file while secretary of maternity home was away from her desk. The name was independently confirmed by a woman who had seen my original adoption file. [I didn't tell her I had a name, so when she told me SANDRA STRICKLAND, I knew my aMom's memory was correct.] aMom thought bMom was from Indiana, but was less certain of this. [aMom died in 2001.]

Addl info on bMom:
- Strawberry blonde hair, hazel eyes, 5'5", 110 lbs, lg bust
- Completed 2 yrs of college prior to my birth. [One doc say s Jr. College grad, one says "2 yrs of college".]
- Entered maternity home in Gainesville, FL, on Sept 15, 1962, possibly coinciding with when she should have been starting her 3rd yr of college at Univ of Fla?
- bM's father was age 45 when I was born, so he should have been born around 1917. bM's mother was age 36; she must have had Sandra while she was 15 or 16 yrs old.
- bM's father had a college education.
- bM had only one sibling, a younger brother
- Twins run in her family
- bM and bF [a 2nd yr Law School student at a "nearby" university - probably UF] were engaged but when his parents found out about pregnancy, they threatened to disown him and cut off his law school funding.

I don't have a whole lot of info. It was a gray-market adoption; unlicensed maternity home, unlicensed child placement agency - when they closed down, they took their files with them or destroyed them. What limited info the State of Fla has comes directly from bM's obstetrics file. But if there's any other info you need, just let me know.
