b 1962 Landstuhl Germany- Ronald Lee Michaelson - Military birth

I was hoping someone could tell me if it is possible to apply for an original birth certificate from Landstuhl Hospital. I am searching for a friend. His father (Mike Michealson) was in the Army and it is possible his mother (Ann or Anne) was too. He has been told that his mother had an affair and that Mike was not his biological father.
When the Michaelsons returned to the States, they lived in CA. Maybe around Sacramento. They eventually divorced. My friend was adopted at 18mos by his babysitter. It is possible he has an older sister. His adopted parents will give almost no information even though his daughter was born with severe medical problems.
He was born Ronald Lee Michaelson.
His name was then changed to Lawrence O'Neal Tonkin.
Then changed again when his adoptive mother divorced and remarried to Harley Suzor Jr.
I am not sure of the spelling of the name Michaelson.
I would be very grateful for any help or suggestions anyone could offer.
God Bless!

Searching For My Birth Father

My Dad was stationed in Sherdan Kaserne Augsburg. His name I believe is Cleveland Weber from National City California.
My mother is Erika M Euringer and lived in Hochzoll Oberlander Street 158.
My birth date is 6-5-1955.
When my birth father left Germany my grandmother and half the people on their street went to the train to say goodbye to him. Mom was already pregnant, but never told him. She did get legal papers from Doctor and sent them to him in the US. His mother sent money and gifts for me for a few years, then my mother married and she lost touch with his family. I came to the US in 1960. I didn't know I was adopted by my present father until I was 18 years old.
My birth father had no idea I was adopted or that we came to the US.

My father, an American soldier with the US 3rd Army, 16th Armored Division, 396 Armored Field Artillery Batallion, that liberated Czechoslovakia in 1945, had a Czech mistress that he apparently loved very much because he wrote to my mother in the U.S. telling her he wasn't coming back. He did return---in mid-1946---but I am curious as to why he didn't want to return and suspect there may have been a child or pregnancy involved.

If you or anyone you know is a child of an American GI and Czech mother that was born in 1946 or 47, please respond to this post.

Thank you.
I'm hoping someone can give me an overview on or the odds of finding information about this. I have zero experience with adoption research.

I am told that a relative's ancestor was born in Germany in the 1860s and was adopted by a family in southeastern Illinois as a "war orphan." Initial searches of census records show this individual with her supposed adoptive father in 1880 and subsequent records with her husband and children. There is no indication in these records that she was born anywhere besides Illinois, though we all know the census cannot be entirely trusted.

I have not yet located a death certificate as I am having trouble finding several in Missouri where she ultimately settled.

Would there be any way to pursue this story by researching records in Germany? If not, is there any other way to solve this?

Dave

b 1962 Landstuhl Germany - Ronald Lee Michaelson - IS0 biological family

Then changed again when his adoptive mother divorced and remarried. It's now Harley Suzor Jr.
I am not sure of the spelling of the name Michaelson.
I would be very grateful for any help or suggestions anyone could offer.
God Bless!

I am looking for assistance trying to find my mothers natural father. The grandfather I have always known adopted my mother. My mother was born in Cuxhaven in 1947. I was told that in germany the father has to put money in a fund for the child. They will receive it when they turn 18. From what my mother told me my grandmother got that money. Is there some kind of adoption registry in Germany? Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you

One youngest brother drowned in a river as a toddler. Sabina was born in Horstein Germany and adopted at 6 weeks old - All other children born possibly in Ebberswald were placed in an orphanage in Germany and adopted, could have been adopted by military families. Mother and Father of these children are still living in Germany. Mother has remarried and father of Sabina was already married at the time of her birth. Is there anyone who might know something about Angelna or her two brothers? I have made contact with Sabina who is living in the USA.
Need Information on how I can get or find out about an German adoption around 1885-1899

My Great grandfather is from Germany. Not sure where at in Germany, We think that it might be Lepzig but we arent sure. His father and brothers were killed in a flood or barn fire when he was young. His mother felt that she was told old to start over by comming to the states with him so she put him up for adoption so that he could come to the states. His name is Emanuel Kopkie he went by E.M. Kopkie after he was married here in the states. I have been told that his last name should be Heinzman but there are so many different spellings of that name I am not sure how to even spell it.
I was always told that Kopkie was a polish last name and since I have been searching my family lines I have found out that it is actually a German name. So I am confused and not sure where to start now.
He married Augusta Wendt from Prussia Germany here in the states. Her family came over about 1899 and we have figured out that they were married sometime around 1907. They settled in Minnisota and North Dakota before moving to Washington State in the later years of their life.
I have tried even looking for his adopted family but havent had any luck. So I am thinking that they brought him over to the states and then he was on his own to survive.

If anyone can help me by pointing me in a direction on where I might be able to get some help to track down and maybe find out more information I and my grandparents would greatly apprieate it.

Hi,
My names is Yvonne and I live in Kansas City, USA. I am in search of my half-sisters that were adopted by a couple from Heidelberg? in 1978. Their names are (if not changed) Melanie and Liane Wilhelm. They were about 3 and 5 years of age. My mother was dying...Her names was Anna Wilhelm from Mannheim.
Looking for Father

My mother was born in Wiesbaden, Sonnenberg in 1948. She never knew her father and the stories my grandmother told about him varied over the years... from his origin to where he went. All we know is something painful happened between them and she never forgave him for it. In 1957, my grandmother married a US soldier and he adopted my mother and they came back to the US.

Now, as for facts... on the adoption papers my mother has, no biological father is listed. My grandmother refused to give much more than minor details to her new husband or my mother. She is dead and no further information can be obtained as she had no living relatives. We have only the last name of the man who fathered my mother... Kauffmann.

It might help if I could find the birth record of my mother, but I've come up with nothing. She had a brother who died as a child and though we know his name (Lothar Siebert) we don't have the name of the cemetery or even the town he was buried in (Germany). In the background of a picture at his grave, there are two headstones visible but the dates are not. The names are Wilh. Stiehl and Albert Finger. If we knew even the name of the cemetery, we might be able to backtrack through the grave of Lothar and find the names of both parents, which we still need the father.

Son born in World War II German War Camp

Irma Anna Fedrau and her father, Hugo Fedrau, were sent to a war camp during WWII. Unfortunately, I don't know the name of the camp, Irma died in 1980. Her daughter would like to find the son that was born to Irma conceived by a German solider during her imprisonment. She had the son for one year at which time they took him from her. Later they told her that the son had died. She always believed that her son was given to either the father, or another family. Irma was blonde and had blue eyes, born in 1921, 5-6, 120 pounds.

Irma and her father her from the Frankfurt area. He owned a butcher shop outside Frankfurt. They were German Lutheran.
