Charlie Dodd 1890, Bryant Dodd 1892, and Alice Dodd (no know married name) 1889, forth child location not known in 1900. Julia-Dodd-Grant 1897. family says they were born somewhere around Montana on a Blackfeet res. unknown if this is a true story, mothers maddin name may be Johnson. if this sounds like a story from your grandparents, one of the Dodd or Evans children plz let me know.

Jackie Sue Grady was born poss. February of 1960 in Bartlesville OK to Charles Grady and Rosie Lee Dixon. She then lived with her grandparents John Wesley & Ruth Dixon in Springdale Arkansas until their deaths in 1968. She was then adopted and the family had been trying to find her for years.

I am looking for a large family of Ashmore's who would have been adopted or not officially adopted who were born in and around AK (specifically Ashdown, AK). As I understand it my grandmother birth name may have been Flossie, last name Ashmore was born in Ashdown, AK in 1923 and was possibly the 11th child. She was taken in by a nurse in Rapid City, SD. I am not sure if the whole family ended up there or the circumstances of getting to Rapid City. If you can provide any possible answers it would be helpful.

Are the laws about adoption (in Arkansas) the same now as, say, 20 years ago? And, if one was told they would need a court order to open a file....can the adoptee simply request a court order because they want to know...or do they have to have specific medical (or other such) reasons? I am trying to find out more information on my daughter-in-law's grandmother. She was born in Rector, Arkansas on Nov. 8, 1911 and then adopted. She was raised by the Long family in Alabama and later married an Edward Terry Kirkpatrick. She died in Alabama around 1974. I can find no record of her birth and she refused to talk about it with her daughter and granddaughter until the day she died.

I was told that when she was "very old" she was approached by some of her birth siblings and refused to communicate with them.

Any information and/or advice on how to find out more would be appreciated. I am trying to make out a family tree for my granddaughter and this branch is awfully short! :-)

First of all, I need to say, I'm not looking to interrupt anyone's life, I'd just like some genealogical information, to know where I come from. Here's the info I already have....my name at the time of my adoption was Melanie Lamberth, or Lambert, but I know that could've just been my foster parents' name. I was born on July 28, 1975, at St. Bernard's in Jonesboro. I was adopted on November 3, 1975. My birth mother was 19 years old, was 5'1" with blonde hair and blue eyes, she was Caucasian and was nearsighted. My alleged birth father was 20 years old, 5'8", and had brown hair, hazel eyes and a medium complexion. I have brown hair and brown eyes. Born 8/27/67 at University medical center in Little Rock AR. Am searching for bmom, bdad or sibs. I have rec'd nonid info and know I have at least 5 half siblings, (3 from bmom and 2 from bdad). Bmom left 3 older children (1 girl and 2 boys). Bmom was 27 y/o when I was born and wa 6 ft tall and completed the 8th grade. Bdad was 34 and 5'11 amd a high school grad and at time of my birth worked in pest control industry. He had 2 children ages 5 and 2, but do not know sex. B mom was divorced 5 yrs when she had me and her other children had the same father. Her children were (male) age 10, Fem (age 8 (wore correcective shoes for one year due to being born breech, and another male age 7 at the time of my birth. Half sibs lived with bomoms parents at time of my birth. She kept her pregnancy from her parents and my half sibs, stating she was receiving psychiatric care and had been nervous and neede rest. Bmoms paternal uncle was killI was killed in a car accident. Bmoms paternal grandfather was in law enforcement and maternal grandfather was a minister and worked in agriculture. Most of her family did work in agriculture which leads me to believe they may have lived in the eastern portion of AR. She also had four sibs, 2 brothers and 2 sisters. she was the 3rd born child. She signed consent forms when I was 2 days old. I was then placed in foster care. I know from nonid info that foster mother took me to DR when I was 2 weeks old, and I had the colic. I was released to my adoptive parents when I was 8 weeks old. My adoptived dad told me the name on my crib was "baby girl Walker", which was probably an alias. The atty that handled adoption was Rodney Chambers. I have been searching for a number of years without success. Bmom may have stayed at a home in Little Rock for a time while she was pregnant. This would have been approx. Nov or Dec of 66 to August of 67. If anyone has any information, or this information rings a bell with you, please contact me. I dont want to disrupt lives, but obviously I have a large family that may know nothing of me and I would love to get to know them and have them meet my family. I have 2 kids of my own, a daughter and son. My daughter is in college and my son is in the military. Please, anyone, help. Thank you.

I have a photo of my dad taken in 1927 on which he has written "taken at grandpa's place (600 acres) in Sand Gap, Ark". His grandpa was John Nipps. In other information he wrote "John Nipps d. Jan. 5, 1914 in San Lope, Ark."
I can't find any San Lope (or similar name) in Arkansas, but assume he must have died at or near where he lived in Sand Gap. Can somebody please tell me if San Lope is, or was, a town? a cemetery? a hospital? any idea what name or place he was referring to? Thanks!

Carol Ann Mueller (name is stated on adoption papers) was born 23, July 1950 in Little Rock, Pulaski Co. Ark., She was adopted out of Washington Co Ark. On adoption papers it states Director of Welfare Bernice G. Ratcliffe was her guardian for the adoption in 1951.
Her adoptive mother told me she thought the mother was a secretary for a lawyer and her mother’s father owned a lumber yard in Little Rock. (This has not been proven)
Does anyone have any Business Directories of this time frame? Or know how I could look into finding information on her real parents?
She does not want or need anything from her family. She would just like to know about her real family.
