Blackmarket baby born 8-16-1943 Los Angeles County adopted by the Beal's

My mother was born on 8-16-43 adopted by Arthur & Angeline Beal of Los Angeles, Ca. The adoption was one of an illegal nature and my mother was never given any information about her parents, family, etc... My mother has since deceased, last year from Melanoma Cancer and I would really like to find her biological family. I'm sure I have aunts and uncles, and cousins that I don't know about. My name is Luana Plonski. I have included some pictures of Scharlotte, she has dark hair, and the last picture is of me (Luana) and my husband Toby.

Hello, I was hoping someone would be able to look up and see if there was a marriage in California in 1958 or 1959 between Minnie Ann Phipps and an Alkire. There was a baby born to Minnie in 1959, trying to find out if Ferguson was the natural father or was Alkire. I have found my birth mother Renan "Sami" Newhouse. She worked at a hospital in Riverside, CA in 1970 and was with a man, my birth father, who's sister also worked at the same hospital. I am looking for my Father's birth family. We were told that his birth mother was 19 year's old long dark hair and blue eye's. His father was tall(6 foot 1) from Texas with blonde hair and blue eyes. was a Merchant Marine. We have no name's. We dont care what happen way back when, My dad's life growing up was wonderful, and he is thankful for having my Nana and Mel for parent's. they would have done anything for my dad.

We were also told that his birth mother could have been from San Francisco Ca. So I am hoping that his birth father was stationed in or around San Francisco Bay Area in May of 1946. My father was born on February 19 1947 in Santa Cruz California. he was adopted at birth to Al and Betty Metcalf. They lived on Water street. His mother used to drive by and sit down the street from his house and watch him from a distance.

My mother was born in Los Angeles, CA, in 1930 and has always known she was adopted. The birth certificate I remember seeing has her adoptive parents listed as her parents.

We "know" she was adopted within the family. It was an uncle or brother (depending on the story) of her birth parents that adopted her.

No one in the family would tell my mother the truth. Every one who would have known the truth is now deceased, including my mother.

I will be requesting a copy of her birth certificate, but is there anything else I should ask for that would solve this mystery? There is also a question of whether she was born in LA or Oakland, although her birth cert is from LA.

I question whether or not there would be any adoption records since she was kept in the family. Any suggestions any one has would be GREATLY appreciated. I would love to solve this mystery once and for all.

I am the process of locating my birth parents. I understand the agency name was Native Daughters of the West. Located in San Francisco. My original birth name was Miriam Ogden. It was changed to Virginia L. Young when my birth parents adopted me. My birth year was in 1942.

Baby boy was born believed to be 10 May 1905. He had an older brother. Both boys were in the orphanage in San Francisco run by the Native Daughters of the Golden West. The baby was adopted before the April 16, 1906, earthquake by Leander and Avila Brewster of Corralitas, Santa Cruz County, California. He was named Eldon Rudell Brewster. He later married Helen Wilson of Watsonville. They had a son, Eldon Rudell Brewster, Jr., born 1931. Eldon Brewster, Sr., was kiled in Watsonville in 1945. His son is seeking his father's birth name and identity. Where would records be?

My mother was born in Los Angeles, CA in September 1944 at California Lutheran Hospital. She was given to the Children's Home Society of CA and adopted out at age 3 months.

This is the info given to us by the Home about the birthmother: "Ireneane, born in CA, age 17, Protestant, 1 year of high school, worked odd jobs (ticket seller, chamber maid, lunch counter waitress), 5'5" tall, brown hair, brown eyes, medium complexion, "vivacious girl who looked older than her years", father is 50, mother is 55, grandparents were deceased, has 2 sisters." We believe her name was probably supposed to be spelled Irene Anne; no maiden name was given. The birthfather's family said she was known as "Boots"; he had that tatooed on his arm.

We have already been in contact with the birthfather's family. His name was Francis "Curly" Simmerman. According to his family, Irene was sent to live with an uncle in the Los Angeles are sometime during her pregnancy and they believe the uncle worked for Goodyear Rubber Co. They say she was forced to give her baby up. Unfortunately, they don't remember much else about her. We believe she lived in the El Cajon/San Diego area, as that is where the birthfather lived. We don't know if they were legally married. She would be about 80 years old.

Any information, advice, tips,etc., would be greatly appreciated.

This is what I know: My grandfather was adopted at birth. He was born in 1920 in Los Angeles county. Both of his adopted parents are deceased, and naturally I'd assume his birth parents are as well.

My grandfather was never interested in finding his birth parents, but I am kind of curious about them... I'm not sure if there is anything I can do to find out more about his adoption?

When I searched the California Birth Index, I found a birth record for my grandfather, with his adopted name and his adopted mother's maiden name. I'm guessing this is all too far in the past for me to be able to dig up any info. But I thought I'd ask, anyway. :)

Looking for my husband's birthmother and family. She was 21 when he was born, surname Kelsey. She had 4 siblings and no previous children. She worked in a bank in So. Calif until around April of 1965. We believe she may have been born in Iowa as her parents were both in Iowa at the time of his birth. Her birthdate is most likely between 8/29/43 and 8/28/44. I have a lot of non identifying information on her and her family, but nothing has led us to her, so far.

His birthfather was Donald Forsblade. He passed in 1983 so we are unable to get any information from him and no one in his family will acknowledge the possibility of the exhistance of any child of his. Supposedly he dated my husband's birthmother for a year or two before he was born.

Hi Matt,

I read with interest what you wrote about "ISO Sealed Records Info." You are absolutely right, and that' exactly what I told my brother, who was born in 1949, in San Diego, CA. We knew that his birth records were sealed, but I contacted San Diego County Records, and they told me exactly what you wrote.

My brother had his Attorney go before a Judge (same one, both times!), and she adamantly refused his request, and told the Attorney, "Your client must have a serious or terminal disease, in order for those records to be un-sealed." That is such a ridiculous ruling, in my opinion, because my brother is 56-years-old, has two grown children and three grandchildren, and he is concerned about any possible health issues which may be inherited in his bloodlines! I think he deserves to know about his birth family. Our parents & family will ALWAYS be his family, but with both of our parents now deceased, he and I wouldn't even mind having an "Extended Family."

Is there any advice you can offer? If so, I sure would appreciate your help.

My dad's was adopted at the age of 2 as David Michael Van Meter in San Diego county. Janie died a couple of years ago from breast cancer. I am only looking for Arthur.
