Hello,

I am searching for my father's two brothers so they can finally meet before my father passes away (he's 70 and not in the greatest of health). He was adopted away from his parents in 1940 in WA state, but his biological parents were from Groton County, CT.

I have "non-identifying" information that the adoption agency mailed me that gives several first names, birthdates, and locations but of course no last names. So... I have been putting together clues, searching CT census records, etc.

My grandmother was Myrtle ? born March 17, 1917 in Groton County, CT. She had no known siblings, her mother Edith was widowed. Myrtle married Arthur ? in 1939 and they had at least 3 children, one of which is my father David. Their other two children are Clyde born July 17, 1939 in Louisville, KY and according to the records was carried back to CT in a market basket shortly after birth by his mother Myrtle and father Arthur. Other sibling is Robert or Richard (discrepency in record) born March 15, 1938 birthplace not mentioned.

I found a birth record for a Clyde Lewis born also July 17, 1939 in Louisville, KY showing Myrtle West as his mother.

I found a couple census records showing Myrtle West living with her mother Edith Cowles and Edith's parents Henry L. Cowles and Margaret. This family seems to be a match, but I need to verify it somehow and I cannot find any records of Myrtle and Arthur's marriage and no luck at all in locating Clyde Lewis? or Robert Lewis. There's one Clyde Lewis that might be a match in League City, TX but it seems to be an unlisted number for that Clyde.

What I'm wondering is if anyone or their parents might remember Myrtle and her mother Edith or Myrtle and her husband (and their adventures) Arthur. 1917-1940 ish so I can verify and know who I am looking for, as well as family history.

If anyone does, I might be able to get enough clues to finally locate my father's two brothers that would be hopefully still alive at ages 67 and 68.

Thanks in advance for any help or suggestions!
