CT birth records destroyed after 25 years

Please be advised that in the state of CT birth records from hospitals are destroyed after 25 years! My husband went to Bridgeport Hospital to obtain his medical records at birth and he was told they destroy them after 25 years. They do not save them on film either. If you need your medical records be sure you get them before they are discarded.

I am very busy these days trying to find my family. I am looking for my big brother who was put up for adoption when he was born.
My mom's maiden name was Priscilla Merritt. Her mom was Georgianna. The dad's name was ? Herring. My mother was born Nov. 27 1940. She had my other brother George Herring born two years before the baby she put up for adoption.

The baby's name was Walter Arthur Herring at birth.. March? He was born at Norwalk Hospital in Norwalk Ct. My mom believes that he may have been in some kinda foster home before he was placed with adoptive parents.

I would like to get more info from her, but she is still very hurt about lossing him and crys every time I try to talk to her about it!

I am only a half-sister and I have a little brother too. I was bron in 68, my brother 70, and my mom had two other babies born after Walter . One was a bot who was still born, the other a little boy named, Eddie, who died at six months old from heart problems. I believe that both of those boys were Walters siblings.

William had an older sister and older brother. His older sister (Sadie) was committed to the Industrial School for Girls in Middletown 9/1882, and died there in 8/1883. His older brother (Charles) was sent to an orphanage with William. Charles promised his mother he would stay with William until William was adopted. William was 6 when he was adopted. We don't know the name of the orphanage. William and Charles lived in a poor house in Cheshire in 1880 with their mother. Charles escaped from the orphanage and later went to stay with family. In the 1930's there was a radio program about finding lost relatives. Charles contacted them and they referred him to an Attorney. He never was able to find his brother. They lived in the Cheshire /Southington area. On William's birth Cert his first name is listed as Amos but then they decided on William. Can anyone help, I am stuck.

I am trying to find the actual birth information for my great grandmother who was adopted by Sherwood Odel and Roberta E. (Stow) Preston. My g-grandmother was named Roberta Vincey Preston (RVP) and was born about 1894. The family rumor (from my grandmother) is that Roberta was one of twins. She had a disablity with her legs so Sherwood and Roberta would massage RVP's legs every day. Finally the ailment disappeared. RVP was adopted second. According to my grandmother, she remembers RVP having a meeting with another woman at a fence at some farm. My grandmother says it was very emotional and the two women hugged each other crying...she assumes that it was RVP's twin sister. Rumor also says that Roberta may have been adopted in New York. However all of the census reports that I have show her birthplace as Connecticut (even the birth record of my grandmother and RVP's marriage record shows New Haven, Connecticut). RVP married Donald Alvin Dibble on 19 April 1916. Later they divorced, and then she married Francis Warren Rice. RVP died 14 November 1969 in California. If anyone can help me find her adoption information, I would be very grateful.

I was born January 25, 1963 at St. Francis Hospital West Hartford and adopted as an infant.

My real name is William Buell, mother was 16 or 17 years old. at time of birth, father was 21, Albanian immigrant and worked as a cook somehwere in Waterbury. Catholic Family Services handled the adoption.

Another boy was born in 1964 and to my knowledge was not put up for adoption.
Just looking for anyone who might have more information. I hold no ill will towards my real parents. I was adopted by 2 beautiful and loving people and couldn't hope for better parents or a better childhood. They have bothed passed away within the last 2 years and know I'm curious about my real heritage.

I am trying to help my mother in-law find her uncles who were put up for adoption. They were probably adopted out in 1916. They were twin boys born December 30,1915. They were born in New London Connecticut. Thier names at birth were Earl Crouch Deaton and Clifford Elmer Deaton. They were born to an Elijah & Pearl (Crouch Deaton). Thier were several other children in the family. Thier mother Pearl passed away shortly after having them and they were put up for adoption about 6 months later. The family has heard they were adopted by a family from New Jersey.

My father has Birth papers. I'm not sure if they are correct. He was born in St. Agnes Home in West Hartford, Ct. According to his Birth Record it claims he was born there. The attending physician was N. Herbert Bailely, M.D. This is a Certified Copy of the Birth Record and it was recorded on 12/14/1917. He was born on 12/8/17. His birth name was Ambrose Roggie. He was born to Pauline Roggie she was single but she put down Anunzio Boulla as the father. Pauline lived in East Haddam, Ct. and was born in Italy. She was 23 at the time of my fathers' birth. Anunzio lived in South America, that's what's on the Birth Record. I have tried to find some kind of connection in both names but I keep coming up with a big fat zero. I would love to find out where my parents relatives came from so that I can know who I am. If anyone reconzies these names please e-mail me at Trofa5@aol.com. My father was addopted by Guiseppe and Christina Avitabile on 11/19/20.
My mother always told me she was a black market baby. I'm beginning to think she is right. The only papers my mother handed down to me was a Certificate of Baptism. The name on the Certificate is Catherine Woronczyk. When I put it in the computer to find any info on it nothing ever comes back but a big fat zero too. The Certificate stated that she was born in Philadelphia, Pa on the 30th day of Oct. in 1917 or 1918 the year is different on each one she has. The church was St. Casimir in Philadelphia, Pa. There is no fathers' name but the mothers' name is Ignatius Zimblys. My mother claims that she was adopted but there are no papers saying she was. Does anyone know how far Adoption Records go in Connecticut.? I'm trying to find information on my Dad. He and my Mom were married and raised me and my Brother, I know his last name was Miller, but he also told me that he was adopted by a family with the last name of Miller. He told me he was born in Kentucky, but he lived in Stamford, Connecticut for years. I don't know if he was adopted in Kentucky or Connecticut, so I'm checking both states. Everything else is a mystery to me.

My name is Kimberly Licciardi-Callahan, I am trying ro find out information about my grandfather (my dads dad). We were told he was adopted in New Haven CT by the Licciardi Family, he was an only child from what we know. They think it was an infamily adoption but not sure maybe Italy. My father has heard various stories and really would love to know the truth. My grandfather unfortunatley died when he was in his early forties and we never found out anything. The church would not give my dad any info. All we know is he was adopted about 90 years ago. My dad was only 5 when he died and my grandmother was still pregnant with my aunt.
