Looking for Catholic Convents for Unwed Mothers around Fort Dodge, Iowa in 1909
My grandfathers adopted name is Gerhard Fredrick Duker. He was born April 18,1909 in Fort Dodge Iowa. He had mentioned that he was born to a 15 y/o unwed mother in a convent with nuns. He was adopted by a Johanna(Hinz)and William Duker,shortly after birth. He was baptized may 4,1909 at the Ev Luthern Church in Fort Dodge,Iowa. Johanna and William Duker were listed as his parents on the baptism record.
Any information anybody can help me with would be greatly appreciated. I'm not sure what places were around in 1909?
