want to find siblings

My family fell apart in 1957 soon after the birth of my baby sister. We were all placed in different locations. I was finally adopted in 1960 because I was considered a special needs child. I am sure that my brother and sister had no problems in finding homes. I have found our birth parents recently and would love to have my brother and sister back, also. Even after I was adopted, I would talk of my little brother all of the time. The Indiana Department of Welfare took care of the placements and adoptions. I know that my brother went to Zionsville for a time. I do not know about my sister. She was only a few months old at the time. We all share hereditary health problems which is why I went to look for our parents to begin with. I am hoping that all is well with both of them and they have not had the heart problems which seem so prevalent in our family. My brother was born Jerry Lee, DOB 12/21/1955. My sister was born Donna Faye, DOB 07/13/1957. Our surname at birth was Waggoner. Both of our birth parents are still living, however, they are both in their seventies. It is my sincere desire to be reunited with my brother and sister.

My husband is interested in finding info about his ancestry. He was born South Bend Indiana 10/03 1966. He has information that from the age of four to six he lived in a boys home in Mishawaka, IN with people named Bollenbacher. He was given a Bible at the boys home that has his last name as Campbell. He was then adopted. He has been told that his parents may have been Cherokee. Any information, regarding the boys home or anything else that would give us a place to start from WOULD BE GREAT. THANK YOU

Hi, I am looking for my two younger twin sisters who were born sometime in 8-69 in South Bend Indiana to Arza Monroe Weaver Jr. and Myra Jane Shaner. I am the oldest out of 4 possibly 5 of their children. I have found our brother Arza 3rd, (his name was changed at adoption just like my last name-was to Capes) All I want to do is to see if they are okay, I do not wish to interfere in their lives. I have talked a few times with our Great Grandma Shaner and she has no clue on their whereabouts. Please if anyone knows anything on them, please feel free to contact me at jeeps2u@hotmail.com. Thank you.

The South Bend Welfare Department handled the adoption. The caseworkers name was a Jane Bigler. Anyone with information about the twins can contact me at MsBSG1@yahoo.com. The birth may have been in 1937.
The Gilmore family actually moved to Detroit Mi. but sibling Dorothy Gilmore had married Neal Kennedy and did not leave Brazil with the family. I thought maybe when Margaret was sent away from Detroit to have the baby she went to her sisters house in Brazil, In.
Bio-mother Margaret L Gilmore was born Aug 1919 Newark Ohio Licking Co. The baby could have been called Shirley Jean Gilmore at birth. I hope someone could direct me.

Her parents were older and her father was layed off from his job.

Her family is Baptist and her maternal grandfather was a minister. This is her history taken when she was admitted in the Christian Home.

My birthname was Connie Sue Wilson. This was obtained from the final adoption decree that my adoptive parents received in 1958.

I realize this was almost 50 years ago, but if any of this sounds familiar, please respond.

My name is Elvira, your mother's name is Sherrell. If either of these name seem to bring a faint memory, please contact me, you may be my grandson. You would have been old enough to at least have some memories of us. You were about 3 when the state took you away from your mother and the last visit I had with you was at Centennial Park in Nashville, TN. You were around 5, (I have pictures) and your foster parents were James and Martha. You were living in Smyrna, TN then. Your birth name was Ryan Michael. I fought for you in the TN court system, and won! Which was really hard, as I lived and worked in IN, but the system there just out right lied to the court and said they had given you to me, then had to come up to IN and get you back. This was all untrue! They NEVER released you to me at all. If any of this sounds in any way familiar, espacilly if your DOB is 12/20/83 PLEASE contact me!! we've been looking for your for a long, long time.

Hi,
Could someone tell me if Closed Adoption Records from Indiana in 1963 could be opened now upon request? How does this work? We are needing to find out the birth father for the family tree and since all parties are deceased except for the "birth mother" would they still open them or are they forever closed?
Also since we cannot find any adoption papers, nor could we ever, would this have been a private adoption? All we have is a green birth certificate where the last name was changed.

Thanks so much for the info in advance!
Steffany

I have the original newspaper clipping from So. Bend Indiana, early 1920's of the finding of a baby girl on the doorstep of the Taylor's, neighbors of my Grandmother . John Taylor was his name, hers was just Mrs. Taylor as is common of that era. These people adopted this baby girl and I have pictures of Mr. Taylor and Martha Rose. Just came across them and thought I might try and track them down. Does this strike a bell with anyone?

My name is David Daughdrill. I was adopted by Forrest & Helen Daughdrill at birth in Allen County. I know there is a chance that my biological father is also my adopted father, but then I am not sure about that. I know the card on my hospital layette says Methodest Hospital., and I am not sure there was one in Fort Wayne. I am trying to find my biological roots. My parents died in my 20's. They were in their 50's when they adopted me. I had a sister who was adopted and whom I have not seen since I was in my 20's. She dissappeared after my fathers death. Her name was Debra. If anyone has information on a son born January 19, 1953, Fort Wayne, in Methodist Hospital, handled through Lutheran Social Services, please contact me.

Twins (Boys) Adopted in Indiana 1963

Hi,
I am trying to find any and all info on my husbands family to complete my daughters Family Tree. He and his twin brother were adopted at birth to an older couple in Indiana. Their birthdate is Jan 1963 and my husband thinks it took five or six years for the adoption to be finalized. His adoptive parents have both passed and he never found any adoption records, papers, etc. He only has his hospital foot print card that has his real last name on it (HUSTON)and his adoptive birth certificate. (It's green and has little info on it)
His birth mother has been contacted and will not tell him any info about his father other than he is dead. She wants no contact whatsoever stating her other children and husband doesn't know about them.

All my husband wants is his father's name and some info about his birth mothers ancestry for my daughters family tree. Could anyone help or give some advice on how we could obtain this info? Does he have the right to this info? He has no idea what lawyer or agency he was adopted through since there was no records found so how would he go about obtaining that info?

Thanks for taking the time to read this and any help will be appreciated immensely.

Surnames we are searching for are: Huston, Redmon/Redman,Melley, Nichols, Grant,

My side: Lovett, Myers, Popplewell, Miller, Creekmore,Brummett, Allen, Baird,

Samuel Lee TAYLOR - m. Shirley Lorene Unknown - Indiana?

Looking for any relatives of the above mentioned couple. No dates of birth, death, or marriage. known for the couple. Had daughter b. Oct 28,1964, named Dorothy Marie TAYLOR. Also had children Catherine & Charles Lee. Children were placed for adoption in (possibly)Terre Haute,Vigo County, Indiana. There was possibly an Uncle residing in Terre Haute area. All children went to different homes, as far as we know. Dorothy's name was changed to Darcy Marie CAMPBELL, AKA Darcy Marie Neighbors. Any possible relations or contacts would be very helpful. Darcy (Dee) passed away Dec. 2, 2004. For a long time she had been seeking information on her birth family. Her friends and I are trying to fulfill her dying wish, so she can rest in peace. We do have a few pictures, as well as information regarding her children.

His name was changed at adoption to Emil Edward Goeke. He is half cherokee not knowing but believe his father was the Cherokee and name was not listed on his birth record he viewed as a teen.
I was 15 in 1967 when I gave birth to my son and was forced to give him up. He was born at Colman Hospital for women in
Indinapolis In, August 4th 1967. My name at the time was Jeanette Roberts I would like very much to make contact with him to
let him know that I didn't want to give him away, and to give him any medical history he might need. I'm hoping he has had a good life and can understand that because i was so young my mother would not let me bring him home She was a widow herself and she was a fraid that I would not be able to help her provide for a baby.

Sarah Jane CAMERON, b 1840, Biological Parents?

My 3rd great-grandmother, Sarah Jane CAMERON, born June 1840 (IN, IL, or MO?, married Joseph Whitfield HALLFORD, in 1859. She was raised by her foster parents, the Stoddards. I believe her foster father was a doctor? One of his initials may be L. (?).

The IGI Index lists several CAMERONS who appear to be related to Sarah Jane CAMERON: Nathan W. CAMERON married Ruth HAMBLIN; Rena CAMERON, relative to Elisha Aaron HAMBLIN; Samuel A. CAMERON, relative to Elisha Aaron HAMBLEN. Sarah Jane CAMERON is also listed as being a relative to Elisha Aaron HAMBLEN.

I would greatly appreciate any assistance with helping to find the biological parents of Sarah Jane CAMERON. Thanks!

You can view two pictures of Sarah Jane CAMERON: http://www.angelfire.com/ca2/VernAndrews/HallfordAlbum01.htm...

First picture shows Sarah Jane CAMERON, sitting, center right, with striped blouse. Her husband, Joseph Whitfield HALLFORD sitting left center.

Third picture, Sarah Jane CAMERON on right, Joseph Whitfield HALLFORD on left.
