Looking for information regarding THOMAS children’s adoptions between 1915-1922 from the Mississippi Children’s Home Society in Jackson, Hinds, MS After the death of their mother, Nettie Webb Thomas, the Thomas children boarded a train in Garvin, McCurtain, OK and arrived at the orphanage Jackson, MS June 1915.
Blanche Thomas b 1902 Missouri and Raymond Thomas b 1905 Missouri both were supposedly adopted by a minister from Macon, Noxubee, MS before 1917.
May Thomas, also called Annabelle, (b abt 1913, Texas?) was adopted in 1922.
The oldest child Edward A Thomas, Jr. b 1900, Missouri was not placed in the orphanage. Ruth Thomas b 1904 Missouri was legally adopted 1916.

I am not sure what state I was born in (AL?or MS?)but I was adopted by R.E.Crawford and Jessie Pearl Crawford in Boliver County, MS. A year later they divorced and I was given to Ernest and Gracie Sherman Frates in Columbus, MS. The adoption papers state that I have 5 siblings somewhere by the name of Chamberlain.
According to the adoption papers, my birth parents were Bob and Lillian Chamberlain and Limestone County Alabama is mentioned.
There was a W.H.Chatham that kept me for a few months also about 1941.
If anyone knows any of the above persons, I willl eternally be grateful.

I am trying to help my mother-in-law find her birth mother. Her mother would be 88 years old. I know that her mother might not be alive, but she still wants to know a little about her and I feel someone might know something. We do know that her mother had her at her house, which the 20 year old mother was living with her father and stepmother. The stepmother said that the baby had to go, so the mother gave her up for adoption. My mother-in-law was adopted from Mississippi Children's Home in Jackson when she was 4 weeks old in 1937. Was told by someone that saw this show that the adoptions occured around the time that my mom was adopted at the age of 3 months. She was born in Natchez, Mississippi, on May 26, 1925, and her birth name was "Mary Louise". Anyone having any info about this story, please contact me.
All I know is the name of the lady that arranged the adoption, Mrs. Holmes..know that she had a son who was an attorney in Hattiesburg.

The Williams name appeared to belong to my aunts...Gloria Williams, Thelma Jean Williams, Ruby Williams, Peggy Williams, Patsy Williams, Shirley Ann Williams, and a Jeannette and Marie Allison. Joyce Westbrook gave birth to her daughter (in Jan. 1953) at a hospital in Hattiesburg, Miss., THEN the daughter was taken to the Emery Memorial Home that was ran by Sister Mabel Cooper and placed for adoption. It was reported that the birthmother Joyce Westbrook had several children already, and was approx 25 years of age at the time; she was either divorced or separated, but used the name Joyce Westbrook. The final adoption decree was in Harrison County, Miss. where Joyce Westbrook was living in 1954. Any and all inquiries will be answered and appreciated.
