Noel was born in the mid 50's to Norvin and Adele Schmidt in the Detroit, Michigan area. Adele already had a daughter named Dondee. Both children were adopted by Adele's new husband, so Noels last name is no longer Schmidt and hasn't been for at least 40 years. I recently started research my birth mother Debra (Basken) Schultz. She gave me up for adoption 9-15-1974. She was the 4th youngest of 16 children in her family. She died in 2-6-1998 so I never got the chance to meet her but I did recently receive her family history. My birth mother and several of her siblings were removed from the home and placed in foster care. My mother was placed in foster care at the age of 8. Her and her siblings (I have all their names and their dates of birth) were all from the Manitowoc area.

I’m wondering if you know of any Basken’s that might be her siblings. They would all be between 45 – 60 years old now.
Anything you can share would be great. I started a family tree for her on this site. Search for Debra Basken and you'll find it.

I am looking for a young lady who very possibly was adopted at about the age of 6-8 years of age. She was my youngest sister's daughter. My niece was born on Jan. 2, 1981 and would now be 27 years old. Social Services removed her from an undesirable home situtation. I believe she was born in Fond du Lac, WI and lived in Eau Claire at the time she was removed from the home. Does anyone have any idea as to how I might go about finding her? She could have been put in foster care or she could have been adopted. I would very much like to find her. But, do not even know what her name might be now as she could have an adopted name, and could very well be married as well. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

I don't know how true this is.I was told that one uncle lived close to her and checked on her often but he would never tell where she was. He would let my dad know that she was OK and how she was doing. He would never tell us kids other than we could never bother her that was part of the deal when he let her go.She has one Brother that Say's he seen her when sh was a baby. There is paper work that my younger sister found in Watertown Wisconsin that shows the divorce of my dad and his first wife and it showed that there was 3 kids. It does not give her name. can someone Help me find her my father is Dead My mother in Dead. I have found out that her mother is still alive but My oldest Half brother says she will not tell and says she don't know what happened to her.And that lady went on to be married many times. But ended up divorce from all her husband's and gave up all her children at last count that we know of there was ten and she gave them all up.My 1/2 brother that ended up living with us and my mother helped raise Say's he knows all his brother's and sister's and his mother. Please let me know if anyone has any better suggestions on how to search for my uncles. My grandma (mom's mom) passed away last summer and in her passing a lot was discussed. She mentioned at one point to my dad a long time ago (drunkenly) about having two boys and putting them up for adoption. My uncle mentioned that he also remembers hearing something about this. My family is real mum on this sort of thing and I don't have much more information. I have the general years, and possible location of births. Please let me know if you ahve any advice !

My birthmother placed an affidavit on file to release her info to me, paternity was established so serach for him was done, he wants no info released, so now my search continues. I do know both were born in 1959, her dob is 01-06-1959, she was one of six children, he was one of seven. She has 3 other children, male born in 1980, and fraternal twins male/female born in 1983. I am searching for my birth parents. I was born with the name Steve(n) Allen (now: David Allen) on September 23rd, 1975 in Superior Wisconsin at the former Superior Memorial Medical, now St. Mary's of Superior. I was born at 11:27am.

The only information I have was that my birth mother was 17 at the time of my birth of german/irish decent. My birth father was to my knowledge was also an adoptee, and was 19 at the time of my birth. He was tall with blonde hair and blue eyes.

Another Birth Certificate Question - Wisconsin

Actually a Birth Registration from WI dated 1921 - my mother's, who was subsequently adopted. It seems to be a transcription as all info is in same hand, even signatures, although it is form-like. It is certified by the state.

The parents named are not the adoptive parents but seem to be "real" except I cannot find them in any other records for any of their indicated places and times - of birth, residence, etc.

My maternal grandparents were not, apparently, married, as indicated on this document by the fact that my mother is given the surname/maiden name of her birth mother.

What is this document? Could the state make up a phoney birth document other than that concocted for the adoptive parents? Could this be something cooked-up by an adoption agency to tidy the record - fill all the spaces - so as to appeal to a potential adoptive family?

Or could this be the actual birth record on which birth parents lied?
Could the standards of proof of identity have been so lax?

I have applied to WI for an Adoption Search that is supposed to yield more, although non-identifying, information. I have my doubts given the 83 years since my mother's birth. She is deceased and I am certain the birth parents are long gone.
