While entering an adopted child in a genealogy program what is the proper way?
If a child was born to Mr. and Mrs. John Doe, I'll call him Bob Doe. Now say Mrs. John Doe divorces John and marries Tom Smith and takes Bob Doe with her. Now Tom Smith adopts Bob Doe. How would I enter Bob's full name in my program?
Would it be Bob Doe Smith or Bob Smith with no reference to the name Doe?
