What a great point regarding 'snowballing', which is especially pertinent for those who view the Ancestry summary rather than the original record.
The correction process will be compounded, since Ancestry is *adding* an LDS-generated index to censuses, beginning with the US Federal 1900 Population Schedules (when are we going to get to see the commercial and agricultural schedules?). In many instances the index entries will now be doubled; the possibility exists for two sets of incorrect entries for a given household.
Ancestry never never never corrects indexes, no matter how wrong.
