I don't keep a calendar of when beta functions are released, but my recall is this one has been out for more than a few months. I used it, recognized major flaws, sent feedback about the flaws and reverted to using the original (old).
The *threat* of having the beta made permanent is what is generating the current feedback. Not having the choice of using the old, I explored the beta once again and the SAME flaws presented.
Users tried it when it was first introduced, and SPENT THEIR TIME giving feedback. The feedback was evidently not heeded. Either feedback is not taken seriously (thanks for wasting my time), or programmers are diddling their time away (a waste of time on the company dime).
Why does it always have to be like this Jen, no one enjoys it. This is not a case of users being "upset" by change, it's a case of users understanding they're wasting their time trying to get through to intransigent heads to no avail or satisfaction.
