I couldn't agree more. As a 10+ year subscriber, it disappoints me greatly to see the continued "fixing" of things that aren't broken. I have been considering for sometime cancelling and the loss of the Old Search may well be the straw that breaks my back. I quit using FTM when they went to the current format. Other programs are light years ahead in format and usage. What a waste. The same thing is happening now to the site.
This is now being geared to all the newbies who don't know better and will probably drop within 1-2 years. As long as the number of new members keeps exceeding the cancellations made by long time users this inept, inefficient operation will continue. When New Search is the only search, you will get better results doing it old school by going to the library or court house and looking at microfilm. You can look through a roll of microfilm faster than you can check all the "Results" from this search engine. Putting lipstick on this pig doesn't hide the fact that it's a pig.
Most who read this will say I'm just reluctant to change. I am in the sense that if it's not broken, don't fix it. Old Search was not broken. A lesson Ancestry.com will never learn under the current management.
