I started this thread a while back but quickly realized that no solution was forthcoming in the short-term. My solution was to download and install Mozilla Firefox for web browsing. It has no problems downloading pictures from Ancestry.com. You can decide if you want to make it your default browser. My reading and discussions with others is that Firefox is less vulnerable to intrusions that could infect your system. Except for a site or two I've switched to Firefox for my internet browsing. Make sure your system has sufficient space before installing the software. I started at
