Maybe Ancestry bosses should not have bought up so many other smaller companies such as the former Footnote. I subscribed to Footnote when it was just beginning and feedback from their people was fantastic, even going so far as to call me when something was not working and walk me through the process. When I e mailed someone, they got right back to me. That is, until they were bought out and then nothing was the same and the focus became strictly military records. They made their search extremely difficult and nearly unusable. I did go ahead and resubscribe this year but will not do so again. I sent an e mail asking about their search format and was told that was it-all but saying "live with it" though not in so many words. I would hope that what ever company buys Ancestry will keep it going. I worked for many years for a company that then was over 100 years old. The folks who were in charge bought many smaller companies and could not keep paying for them. They were bought out by a company who sold off the good parts and closed most branches, including the one I worked at. I would hate to see Ancestry broken into itty bitty pieces. But we all know companies do not last forever.
