You need to stop worrying what other people do. There is no rule that says one must be as passionate and spend as much time and effort researching as you do. Would it be nice if everyone made a better effort to research every single individual in their tree? Sure. But this is just a hobby for most people and a lot of them may not have the time to dedicate so much effort to it. Just like ANY hobby, they are perfectly entitled to take it as far as they want to and that's really none of your business.
I'm a professional photographer but do I give people a hard time because their hobby of photography could be improved but they are not making the effort to do it? No. So why should I give them a hard time for not doing more thorough research in genealogy?
You're not the genealogy police - focus on your own tree. The Serenity Prayer would be appropriate here:
God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change,
The courage to change the things I can,
And the wisdom to know the difference.
You can not change other people's trees so just accept that and move on. Or does your self esteem require that you belittle other people to feel superior to them?
