I just looked at the trees for Margaret Hamilton who married Ignatius Simpson. At least a dozen people copy and pasted wrong information about where she was born and who her parents were from one researcher who posted the data about her incorrectly.
I jumped on their cases and low and behold one person posted she was born in Scotland.
How hard is this anyway? She stated on the census she was born in PA. Her children posted that she was born in PA, and her father signed for her to get married.
Then one person even posted that they had not ever seen any Hamiltons in Campbell County, KY. In that area they are as thick as flies and most are not related to each other.
It makes you want to throw up your hands and say, look people this can be done by third graders. Hamilton is a common name and there are dozens of people who have lived that were named Margaret Hamilton.
To all you people who can't figure it out, please research a lttle deeper, look in differnt places, compare notes, compare information but don't copy and paste genealogical facts.
