I personally like to check for persons from 1910, 1920, 1930 and 1940 on the FamilySearch website because I more often find names that are misspelled on Ancestry.com. Most of those Census pages are linked directly to Ancestry, so once you find them in the FamilySearch index, you can view it from there.
