mbmjlm - I think I will probably keep my "unknowns," now that I've checked settings on ancestry and entering "unknown" does in fact make the person deceased in ancestry's "eyes," which would make them not private. :)

I also do the same as you when it comes to the census and widows. That helps give a date range for death.
