Can't get Census or Newspaper clippings to open

Hi,
Is anyone else having problems getting any documents to open? My husband I both have been trying for the past couple of days on 2 different computers. I want proof and sources before adding things to our trees. We have opened and saved them before with no problem. Does this happen often on this site? We have only been on here for 2 wks. Also does anyone know if the programs you can buy that work with ancestry.com allow you to save all of your sources and documents easily? I'm afraid that we'll lose all of them in 2 and 1/2 months when our subscription ends on here.
