1850 messed up in NYC with combined records

When are the 1850 census index records going to be fixed? I want to print the index records as well as the census images but there are people on it who don't belong with my family and are not even on the same page with them!

Has anyone else noticed this in NYC? I reported it months ago but nothing has changed.

How big is this problem? Maybe it's not getting fixed because it's too small of a problem -- to THEM -- or maybe not enough people are complaining! I've only found it in NYC. Has anyone else found it, or found it anywhere else?

Jo

1900 search engine is not working

I am trying to narrow down a search by birth year, name, state, county and so on. Whenever I go into the 1900 census and use the search engine to narrow the categories down it will not work. It tells me there are no matches which is wrong. If I do the general search it shows people, when I do the search to narrow down the categories it does not work. I can take a person that it shows in the general search and use those same categories to narrow down people and then it tells me there are not matches. Something is wrong with the search engine for the 1900 census. It use to work, it no longer does. What happened?

1790 through 1900 Census Images are not loading

OK, what's going on? When I try to look at any name on any US Census page in the 1790 through 1900 US Censuses I get either 1.) an error message, if I'm using the Enhanced Image Viewer, or 2.) a blank image with an X in the upper left corner, if I'm using the Basic Viewer. The same problem occurs with the US Census Mortality Schedule. The 1910 through 1930 Census Images load just fine. This seems to mean that the 1790-1900 Census Images themselves cannot be found by the Viewers.

I notice that the folks at Ancestry.com have been fussing with the Ancestry Weloome page again.

Halsey

Download Advanced Viewer FLASHING page

I already have the advanced viewer installed but several times in the last week when I've tried to view a census image the admonition to download the New Enhanced Viewer flashes on the screen. And I do mean FLASHES... on and off! I have managed to catch the Download Now button to click it, and the viewer downloads and I'm told it was successfully installed, but then it goes right back to this same FLASHING page. If I catch the tiny the Continue without downloading the Enhanced Image Viewer and click it, I am able to access the census image, but it is too small to read. When I click the magnifying glass to enlarge it... guess what?... I'm back to that good old flashing page again! Am I the only one this is happening to?

I have searched in vain and can't find one family in the 1870 census. Maybe someone can help. I have searched locally and nationally.I have used every spelling, wildcards, using just first names and even just the ages.

I know they should be in Kansas. These people were in Doniphan County in 1860 and my ancestor was married in Douglas County in 1872.

So these are the people I am looking for;

Harrison Crites aged about 36 from PA.

Nancy Jane Crites or Granfield aged about 32 from IN.

Julia Ann Granfield or under Crites aged about 13 from KS.

Caroline Granfield or Crites aged about 12 from KS.

George Granfield or Crites aged about 11 from KS.

Hope someone has better luck than I have had.
Ever lose a family? 1900 Census Problem

I have been going nuts over this problem all afternoon. A few days ago I located a target family in the 1900 Census and jotted down the details:

Tallapoosa County Alabama, Goldbranch District, Precinct 1
J T Duett (head b. 8/1857) - 42
M A (wife) - 39
Maggy F (daughter) - 10
Tillie R (daughter) - 6
Herman J (son) - 3

Unfortunately, I didn't save the record in my shoebox or write down the household number.

Today, I can no longer find the census record. I have tried all of the search strategies that I can think of and have looked at all of the pages of this district twice with no success.

Has this ever happened to you? Can someone give me a hand or advice on how to find this lost family?

For the last 3 days I have had to stop working because the Census Images (as well as WWI Draft Cards, Newspapers and anything else that uses Image Viewer) have stopped loading. I never know how many images I will get before it stops loading. Today it was 2. I have used Ancestry almost every day for several years and have never experienced this before. Does anyone know what is causing it and what I can do to fix it? I tried Ancestry Help (no help) and I emailed Ancestry Tech Support (no answer). I am SO VERY frustrated right now, can someone help!!

Is there a way - here or elsewhere - to use EXACT for state, County and (perhaps) birthdate - but use soundex for name? I have a number of people - and I KNOW where they were - but the interpretation of the name has things messed up.

Also - I actually have the roll and image number of a census page - and cannot get to it (using search)? Is there a trick I do not know about?

Somewhere I saw a screen where you could click EXACT for each bit of information in an advanced search. Would that be great or what?

Thanks
Keith
Hi,

Is anyone else having problems getting any documents to open? My husband I both have been trying for the past couple of days on 2 different computers. I want proof and sources before adding things to our trees. We have opened and saved them before with no problem. Does this happen often on this site? We have only been on here for 2 wks. Also does anyone know if the programs you can buy that work with ancestry.com allow you to save all of your sources and documents easily? I'm afraid that we'll lose all of them in 2 and 1/2 months when our subscription ends on here.

Thanks,
Ravened

How to see entire household in a census record.

I'm having some trouble looking at Census Records.
Maybe I am dreaming this, but I seem to recall that in the past when I would did a search in the Census Records I could click on a record and see all the members in a household. And if I wanted I could then click on any member of that family and see the record from that person's perspective. Now it seems like when I click on a record I only get the individual that I am searching for.

A specific example: I'm searching the 1870 Census for Louis Huerner, born 1855, Residing in Gasconade County, Missouri.
I click View Record on the top entry returned.
All I can see is information about Louis himself.
I thought that in the past I would see all of the people in this household. The household head is John Schneider. I can see this information when I look at the actual image of the record. But I thought there was a way to get it formatted for me and printable.

Thanks for any help.

(First time poster, so hope I didn't make too many goofs!)

1920 Geographical Searches Improved

I want to announce an expansion of the geographical search capabilities for the US Census at the Morse 1-Step website.

We presently have street indexes to Enumeration District (ED) numbers for large cities for the 1910, 1930, and even 1940 (opening 2012) censuses, and some location to ED information for the 1910 census for smaller communities. We also have incorporated the National Archives (NARA) 1930 database where all EDs are described (and searchable). Another tool we have are conversion tables from 1940 EDs to 1930 EDs (and more important, vice versa), 3,000 urban areas defined by their EDs in 1940 (and therefore 1930), and tables for the larger cities' 1930 ED numbers converted to 1920 ones.

Until this week, the only online method for finding easily 1920 EDs from location data was our conversion routines, but only for large urban areas. However, our ability to convert 1930 to 1920 ED numbers has now been augmented to include rural areas as well. Originally, I and some volunteers transcribed about 40,000 1930/1920 ED pairs for the large and medium cities (ending up with about 975 areas), and just this month, I completed transcribing the remaining 80,000 or so correlates for the smaller urban areas and rural communities (adding over 1,400 small urban area names to the database for 1930/1920). Steve Morse now has integrated the new database into the existing 1-Step utilities and expanded their capabilities. He has also combined some overlapping utilities on the 1-Step site in the census area. If you find errors in the data or problems with the search engines, let Steve or me know.

So now one should be able to, online and for free, find most ED numbers on the 1920 census by geographical means, whether the target address is in a city, town, or rural area. (We already have that capability for 1930 and 1940.)

To summarize: if you can't find a name on a name index for the 1920 census, but know the location that your target was living at in 1920, then it is now possible to do one (or all) of the following on the 1-Step Website: 1. Find your 1920 large city address on our 1930 ED finder, and convert the resultant 1930 ED # to a 1920 one; 2. Find your small community name on our 1930/1920 list of urban areas, and see the 1930 and 1920 ED numbers for that area; 3. Take a 1930 ED number and find out what it correlates with in 1920 (and vice versa); 4. Use the NARA database through the 1-Step site to find your target location in 1930, and use the links there to the 1920 (and 1940) conversion utilities.

The 1930 to 1920 table source information (NARA T1224) was not as good as the 1940 to 1930 material, so the coverage we have isn't 100%. Some areas show ranges of EDs while others lacked information entirely or the NARA film was illegible, but we think that most searches will be successful using the new tables and expanded utility features. See the revised "Overview" essay on the "US Census and Soundex (1790-1940)" folder for more information at: http://www.stevemorse.org/

Enjoy,

Joel Weintraub

Roll 346 has begining of town of Canton after completion of town of Potsdam. Next Canton listings are on roll 350 which completes Canton & begins town of Russel. I reported problems in this area several years ago. I know that this census was intact on film at Seattle archives. I enlarged copy taken of my ancestor living Canton (town) in St Lawrence and the #s are not on my copy from Seattle. This was quite a large town in 1810s.

Could you please let me know if I am correct. My name I know is there is Benjamin Rose. I tried many of the names on my copy and none come up. My e-mail is donhughes@msn.com

Gary Gibb, where are the answers to people's questions?

Gary Gibb, you represent Ancestry.com/MyFamily.com to the people on this board. As the official spokesperson for the company, there is expectation that you will answer questions in a timely manner. You are also Board Administrator for this board and as such are expected to monitor this board's activity. What I am seeing is non-staff trying to help each other when they do not have the answers, but you have the answers and are not answering. If you are on vacation, a simple message telling us the dates when we will not see prompt answers would be appreciated. If you are not on vacation, prompt answers are expected by the posters.

Since Ancestry.com does not allow subscribers to contact them by email for answers to individual questions nor to report problems with online subscriptions resources, this board is our only source of help. Up until now, Ancestry.com was our only online source for census images. With Genealogy.com now bringing census images online it would be wise for Ancestry.com to become more responsive to paying customers rather than lose them.

Sharyn Hay

Ancestry's Platte Co MO is actually Polk Co MO

Hope this saves someone a lot of grief:
ALL of Ancestry's census images of 1840 PLATTE Co. Missouri, Division 1, are actually of POLK Co. Missouri.

I'd report it to Ancestry but they don't care and won't fix it. Ancestry has had images of 1840 Greene County Missouri as Gasconade Co. for over 4 years, despite numerous letters from me asking them to correct it.

I haven't checked to see if Ancestry's 1840 POLK Co, MO images are actually PLATTE Co. but it wouldn't surprise me.

Don't believe any Ancestry census images until you confirm with an outside source
The name of township is quite often very clear on image. [Little "Mahony" in 1840]

Even in cases where census takers made a mistake - IMO, township names should be indexed right.

it is Mahanoy: NOT Mahonoy - Mahony - Mahoney

it is Mahantango: NOT Moghentongo - Mohantango - Mohantongo

So I want just thoes with the last name P for example. I put in P* for the last name and then it says the wildcard returned too many results.
If I narrow the city down with just thoes with the last name P*, how does that return more results than just with the city!?!?!?!?!?

Does anyone know how to search with just the first letter of the last name within a certain city?

1820 Census - Strafford County, NH

I recently discovered that a large section of Strafford County, NH, has been left out of the Census records on Ancestry.com. The only answer I get to this is that they'll have their programmers check into it. From many of the postings, I get the distinct impression that this is a very lengthy process.

The membership fee to this resource was not insignificant, and I paid it in order to have access to all the promised resources. I feel that a more timely response is in order.

Has anyone else noticed this missing segment?

Search by name combinations?

I have an ancestor who was orphaned at an early age. I find him after he married. But he and his siblings must have been brought into someone else's household and the enumerator gave them that person's last name. I'd like to try to find a household with the siblings names in it. I'm thinking if I could look for a household in Georgia in 1870 where the first names David, James, Robert, etc all exist, I might stumble on the siblings living together - at least in some combination.

Is there a way to do that search?

I'm posting this about 6:00 a.m. Eastern Daylight time, on June 22. Hopefully, by the time the rest of the world reads this, the problem will be fixed.

I got the announcement last night about the new 1910 census. I clicked on the "start searching" link and planned to do some serious searching in the Florida census. I entered my search parameters, but got no results. Then, I started deleting parameters, but still nothing. Finally, my only search criterion was "Florida." Guess what! Nothing. NO RESULTS!

I'm sure Ancestry will fix this problem ASAP. Meanwhile, you may want to try out the newly-indexed 1910 census to dig up any new problems to report to Ancestry.

1930 Buchanan Co. MO Washington Township (sorry didn't note the enumeration district) where the State Hospital is listed has a big problem.

I was searching for the surname Gregory. Pulled up 900 something matches--all appeared to be for Omar Gregory and Bernice Gregory. Every individual listed under the household is listed as born in Missouri and a daughter of the head of household-whether the individual was male or female--didn't matter where they were born, index lists them as born in MO. The few pages I did check didn't even show a relationship to head of household-it was blank.

Never did find the page that Omer Gregory was listed on-of course I didn't check all 900 entries either. Put in Omer Gregory and get 900 something hits in Buchanan Co.

When is the indexing of the census for a state complete?

I have been working on tracking the movement of several families through census records. It's surprising how often I can locate the family by surname in a particular county and town in censuses that are 20 years apart, but they don't appear in that location in the intervening census.

This doesn't happen in every state, or for every surname. However it happens often enough to give me the impression that something is missing from the indexes. Does this mean that indexing for some areas is still incomplete?

If so, how can we find out what the incomplete counties are?

If not, then when will each decennial census be completely indexed for all states?

1790 Northampton MA census still missing

I note that, 4 years after it was reported, ancestry.com still has not provided a scan of the 1790 Northampton (Hampshire County) MA census. I thought I was going crazy until I read the county threads and found the 2002 discussion. While I really appreciate all the new databases, and I recognize that in some cases the original microfilm from which scans are made is highly bad, it would be nice if there was some concern about fixing known problems--particularly when these early census records are of substantial interest to US customers.

I was never able to use the higher quality image viewer previously, for the same reason.

I really would appreciate some help with this, because if I can no longer view census images online, my research will grind to a sad halt, as I am not able to travel to view them elsewhere. (Also there is the fact that I am paying to be able to view them online)

Is anyone else experiencing this or is it just my computer. Never had a problem before.

Thanks

Jo

In Cincinnati, Ward 22, ED #258, sheet 10 (both images) is missing. Images 17 and 18 are sheets 9A and 9B, and images 19 and 20 are sheets 11A and 11B.

It's not just a numbering error, because there is a note from the census taker at the bottom of 9B referring to sheet 10, line 1, for the wife of the man on the last line (jacob Mandery).

Can you fix this?

Sorting census searches by county?

Back before the every name index when you searched on a surname you (I think) the results sorted by county. I remember this because I was tracking a unique surname and keeping the results in a spreadsheet and it was sooo easy to list them by county. All I had to do to make it perfect was go back and arrange them in my spreadhseet in house number order within an ED within a county. Two or three years later I'm working on another family and its not working that way. When I do a surname search now with the soundex option (I have to, there are too many spelling variations) I get them, appreantly, ordered first by surname and then within that they are sorted by first name. I'm attempting the same sort of spreadsheet and entering the data is now a nightmare.

IS there any way to sort by county first? If not, is there a way to manipulate the search url so the results are ordered by county?

Three Star Search????

Why bother to rate your searches if they all rate out the same?

I searched "Lewis Hall" living in Vermont in 1860, born in Canada. I got a page full of results all of the results were listed as three stars.

Now the first three hits matched all criteria, I would expect them to have 3 or 4 stars. The next 3 were born in NY so I would expect them to have at least 1 less star than the first three. The next 4 were in VT but they were NOT born in Canada so I would also expect those to have at least one less star than the first three.

The rest of the page was all Lewis Halls but they did NOT live in VT and were NOT born in Canada I would expect them to have at least 2 stars less than the first three hits, but they did NOT. They all (the whole page) had 3 stars each.

So I ask you, what good is rating the hits if everything rates out the same?

Michael

I've just been searching the Klickitat Co. census and discovered it's really messed up. The index listed Wm. H. Stout in Pine Forest Precinct, Dist 116, but the link takes you to Spring Creek Pct. Dist. 115. So I went to the 1910 census and brought the listing of all the precincts up and discovered that all the ones I clicked on were linked to the wrong pages and precincts. I finally found Wm. H. Stout in Pine Forest Pct., but it was listed under Cedar Valley Pct. It looks to me like the whole census need to be redone.

Someone sent me an email saying that the 1920 Census was free at Ancestry.com. I logged out from my account, followed the link they sent and sure enough it's free. I think the explanation in the last sentence is wonderful. This is the message I received:

Search the 1920 US Census for Free - (June 15-17)
http://www.ancestralfindings.com/free1920uscensus.htm
==================================================
The 1920 indexes have been completed for all fifty
US states including American Somoa, Guam, Military
and Naval Forces, Panama Canal Zone and the Virgin
Islands. The database does not currently include
Puerto Rico.

If you do not initially find the name on the page
that you are linked to, try a few pages forward or
backward, as sometimes different pages had the same
page number.
Now available: wildcard searches with less than 3 letters

Group,

In order to use wild cards on Ancestry census searches one has to enter at least 3 letters for a name, and those 3 letters must be the starting letters for either the first or last name.

It would be better if one could search on a single or double letter. So if one was looking for Patrick Weckinsklov (made up name), it would be better to search for Pat* We* or even Pat* W* especially if one has a geographical area in mind to limit the number of hits.

Is that possible? It now is at: http://www.stevemorse.org/census/ancestry.html

Steve Morse has just revised one of his existing utilities to do one or two letter searches on the beginning of a name. Although those of you who have used this utility may not detect any difference in the appearance of the starting page, if you experiment with the entry of information you will see, IF YOU FOLLOW INSTRUCTIONS, hits from such searches. The wild card option is hidden within the choice of "Starts with" entry boxes, and you can enter any number of letters you want, from 0, 1, 2, 3, or more that start a name within those boxes.

Enjoy....

Joel Weintraub

Aloha kakou,

On the home page there is a handy little link to recently added or updated databases. If one follows the link we find a list of databases, some new some marked as 'Updated!'. Would it be possible to supply a short blurb on *what* was updated?

If I see that the 1920 census has been updated it would be nice to know that the update was one I might be interested in. The alternative would appear to be my maintaining a list of all relatives who should have been in each database but weren't, so that I can re-query for them each time a database is updated.

Thank you!
Chris Payne
If they complete such an index for 1910, I wonder if they will repeat that claim for that year.

The reason I wonder, is that... while transcribing street names for Cambridge, MA for 1910 I discovered an interesting situation for ED 742 (T624 Roll 595 Part 2 Page 1A). There is a note attached to the first sheet of that ED (best seen by using the Morse One Step 1910 image finder site rather than Ancestry's direct image since Ancestry cuts the top of the note off) explaining why NONE of that ED's census pages show ANY names of people or street names. If you look at that census those columns are blank. Those people's names are probably not indexed anywhere, even though the REST of their information is shown on the census pages.

If you search on Ancestry... 1910 Census... and leave everything in the name search boxes blank except State: Massachusetts; County: Middlesex; Township: Cambridge..... you will see a bunch of blank "names" for Ward 1......and that particular ED is 742.

So unless Ancestry can magically come up with the names of these missing people they will never have an "every name" index for people who are enumerated on the 1910 Census (and neither will anyone else). Perhaps they will hedge their motto by saying they have an Every name index for all names they were able to transcribe from the census.

Ahhh, the mysteries of the US Census where surprises always wait around the corner .

Joel Weintraub

Hi,

I installed the new Image Viewer (for census images) yesterday and it will not let me save the image to the hard drive on my computer. I click on the "Save" button and a pop up window opens with two options: "Your Computer" and "My Ancestry" - the dot is in the "Your Computer" option. I then click "OK" and nothing happens - no pop up window to indicate where the file should be saved, no nothing.

Has anyone else ran into this problem? Any suggestions on how to fix this? I followed the trouble shooting guide and all my active x components are set as recommended.

Thanks in advance for the help.

1840 Illinois Census WRONG COUNTY!

I don't know if this is the best place to point this out. I've been looking for Elijah Libby known to be in Fulton Co., Illinois in the 1836-1850 timeframe. No such person found in the census search for 1840 though there is an Elijah Libby in Franklin Co. (far across the state)

Turns out this listing (see http://content.ancestry.com/iexec/?htx=View&r=an&dbi...)

which claims to be Franklin Co. is clearly Fulton Co. as it says right on the image.

How do I get the weeks back that I have spent looking for something that is so badly mislabeled?

Still Major MAJOR Problems 1930 Search Engine/Index

I posted a few months ago several problems with the 1930 Search Engine. One appears to have been fixed. I can now find Stephen Morse's father, Morris Mastinsky, by looking for Morris Mas*. I couldn't a few months ago but could with Morris Mast*. So that one has been fixed.

If I enter Shirley Weintraub age 2...see the results (1 person), and on *that* initial result page re-enter at the bottom in the search boxes Shirley Weintraub without the age and ask for a new search, it shows no hits. Hmmmm. Not fixed.

And most distressing is the possibility that 40,000 names are *missing* from Brooklyn. I have my target family on ED 24-502 page 3A in Brooklyn in 1930 (Kings Co). Using Steve's One Step utility I can now go to that page and see Louis (age 45, Rose, Benjamin, etc.) Weintraub. However, I CANNOT find them on the Ancestry.com search engine for 1930. Steve tells me that EDs 24-499 through 24-521 appear to have some sort of problem. So I randomly went to ED 24-521, choose the second family (Samuel Clark, age 34) and searched for him and also his wife Dora. Result...can't find them either. So with this limited sample size it *might be* that NO person on these EDs are indexed by Ancestry. Anyone else want to check? Since there are 22 EDs that possibly have no name indexes...at about, say, 2,000 people each...that's 40,000 people if I'm right. Ouch.

Joel Weintraub, Dana Point, CA

Ancestry should provide 1852 Calif. state census

I wonder how come Ancestry.com doesn't (or can't) provide access to the 1852 state census of California and its index. After all, they have dozens of scanned history books for California. Some Calif. libraries have the 1852 census on microfilm so it would be nice for people out of state to be able to view the images via Ancestry. Otherwise they have to borrow them from Salt Lake City via their local LDS Family History Center.

Many gold rushers were still in transit to Calif. by ship or on the prairies when the 1850 federal census was taken, so they did not get counted. Many were still looking for gold in 1852 so the Calif. state census might be the only pre-1860 record for these people. And many gold rushers returned home after a few years, empty-handed, so their descendants might never have heard that an ancestor or a relative was a so-called "Forty-niner" and might never realize they could be found in the 1852 state census of California. How about it, Ancestry?

Still No Fix to Search Engine Fractional Ages (& Early Marriages??)

It's been several months since the issue of fractional ages for young children was brought to Ancestry's attention. What's happening is that, for example, if the age of a person is shown as 4/12 on the Census sheets, Ancestry shows the age as 4 years on their Index.

The search software is the most important part of good database accessibility. You would think that Ancestry would quickly clear up any problems with this engine....but unfortunately they haven't.

If you want to see the problem...in fact two problems exist here... look up on the 1900 Census any Harriet Tucker born in New York and residing in New York, New York in 1900. There are only 3 hits. I was looking for one born on January 1900 but ***don't*** enter the age of the person on the search screen.

First, you WILL see there is a Harriet Tucker on the search results born in 1900....and age "0" shown on the screen with the NARA series/roll information. Aha...you think, I must be wrong. However, this Harriet Tucker is ***married*** and shows 3 children. Talk about early marriages!!!! This part of the census sheet is difficult to read, but the transcriber could have used some logic in their transcription.

The Harriet Tucker you seek born 1/1900 is shown as being born in 1896 and 4 years of age on Ancestry's index...but if you look at that image you will see she was born in January 1900 and her age shows as 4/12.

Ancestry only has itself to blame for their reputation for low quality control, both in their database transcriptions and in their software design and maintenance, when they don't fix quickly these sorts of errors.

Joel Weintraub

Our programmers are aware of the situation with the 1910 Vermont Census with Orleans County, and they will correct it as soon as they are able. In order to resolve many of these issues it requires research, individual rescanning, and other time consuming processes. For this reason the resolution may take longer than that of other website errors. Thank you for your patience.

If there is anything else with which we might assist you, please let us know.

Ron
Member Solutions
Ancestry.com

Today, while searching the 1870 Vermont > Orleans County pages, I'm finding problems with 1870 links there as well.
HELP!!!...Enhanced Image Viewer Problem

I can't view census images using the enhanced viewer. It shows the download complete, but they look like wet ink smears or a total black screen where the main image should be. The basic viewer works fine with the census images, but it is sooooooo slow to have to use the arrow keys to move around.

The enhanced image viewer works fine when viewing newspaper images, so I'm puzzled that it doesn't work with the census images.

I only started having this problem after I updated to IE SP2 about three months ago. My operating system is XP and I also have Norton Antivirus running.

Has anyone else had this problem? If so, what did you have to do to fix it? HELP, HELP, HELP....what can I do to resolve this?

many links to census images not working...still

Can somone please get the system fixed so the clickable link to a census page image will actually take me to the right census page. Sometimes the correct image might be just a page or two off, but often it is not found at all. I didn't mind waiting til it is fixed, but am now beginning to think no one is working on it. Maybe it is more noticeable to me since I use the census search every day and for several different states. Thanks very much.

Incorrect birth location in 1850 census -- MAJOR ERROR

There are 5,343 hits in the 1850 census for individuals showing the birth state of Colorado. Given that Colorado wasn't even a state until 1876, and wasn't organized as a territory until 1861 (before then it was part of Kansas), I think is obvious that EVERY ONE of those records is incorrect.

On a quick check, some birth locations appear to be Connecticut (usually abbreviated "Conn").

Can these errors be corrected?? If so, please respond with an estimate of when this might be done.

1870 Boone County Arkansas Census

The 1870 Boone County Arkansas Census seems to have disappeared. In fact, the only county that is coming up on the index is Arkansas County for this year.
