Why ismy tree private and remains so after many years- I have given permission at times to view my tree but that's another thread:
1) 50% of the info I inherited was inaccurate which I found and I did not want to put that out there
2) after fixing data (took money and years - inc sharing data with others) I ran into a couple of people who had been hired to research family trees and wanted to use my data- for free
3) some family have requested not to share certain pics and I can't share parts of the tree - it's all or nothing
4) some requests on ACOM are very polite- and others- well they are rude and just nasty-
Perhaps ACOM will give some alterante ways to share portions of a tree with others.
