Thank you, Lynda. I have the same problem and no one has explained it better than you. I had thought the problem had something to do with being descended from more than one sibling, which frequently happens if you go back far enough. Now I see it is the "quickest route" thing. It leads to absurdities like having an x-number GP's actual parent, who should be an x+1-number GP, identified as something silly like "husband of third cousin 4X removed," etc. It wasn't so bad when you could just ignore the relationship and not display it, but now there's no way to remove it without deleting yourself as home person, which deletes ALL the relationships. Sigh. I understand they're working on this.
