There are two main types of chart: box chart (such as you can see in your tree's pedigree chart and 'family view' chart) and fan chart. An internet search for the types of charts may help you decide what sort of information you want to display.

Each type has very limited readability on a piece of standard-sized paper beyond a few generations.

With some software you can create a PDF file that can show more in larger-format paper that can be printed by commercial office-supply and printing companies. You can also take a look at what is available through the 'publish' link in the Ancestry.com navigation bar at the top of the page.

There will still be limitations as to what can be shown on one sheet of paper, even as a "poster". You can not expect, for example, to show all descendants of one couple for five generations, with places as well as dates, and all spouses, in easily readable type.
