How to correct incorrect trees?

Classification: Marriage
I have a 13th century problem. It seems that hundreds of trees show P marrying Henry L but P married William L. Far too many to alert them to the error with detailed information explaining how I can be sure of my facts. If I do nothing the number of trees with the error will only increase as the incorrect information will appear to be the view of the majority.
I would like to see Ancestry introduce an alert notice which is displayed whenever anyone enters the name P in the Public Tree search box to warn against such widespread errors.
Another idea would be to split the database into two so that names prior to 1500 appear on one tree instead of hundreds
