I have the same situation twice in my family (someone marrying sisters), but for some reason one doubles up as in your example, but the other one doesn't.

I'm still trying to figure out why they behave differently in the tree view but the only thing I can come up with is where the ancestor marries into the bloodline he shows twice, but where he's a direct ancestor he doesn't. Not sure that helps your problem though!
