I am seeing numerous errors within the data base just posted-State of Tennessee marriage records. While the collection is really great, the persons responsible for placing the various certificates within the proper years obviously cannot read dates. Many of the really early dates-those prior to 1830 in Madison County-are actually from 1870 through 1892. Some are placed in 1830 but when at the actual certificate is viewed, it is quite apparent that the date is 1870 or 1880. Some placed as 1832 are 1882 and 1892. If it was just one, I would say one mistake was made and not a big deal at all, but all together, there are a number of placement mistakes.
