Ann McNall (she insisting on spelling it "McAnaul" while her sister, Mary spelled it "McNall") had parents who both died young in Ireland (presumably when many people died of small pox or cholera and so died together). Sadly they are never named. The story told by the youngest of their orphaned children was of wonderful "Auntie Balmer" who brought them to relatives in Eardley, Quebec. An older brother, William James McNaueal(!!), came later and settled first near prescott in NY state but he retired to Eardley. IF ONLY... we knew the name of the parents!!! I guess that the mother might have been either a Balmer of a McAllister. Auntie Balmer brought McAllister orphans as well to Eardley.
