Shows up in Wisc 1855 census in Addison but wife is widow in 1860 living with sons Henry (1849-1912), Michael John Jr (1850-1909), Nicholas (1852) and her elderly parents Margaretha and Mathias. Wife Susan (Susanna) nee Steinmetz also born Luxembourg abt 1819, died abt 12 Apr 1894 per Marshfield News. She moved there after his death. She and sons ran a boarding house and a hotel in Marshfield Wisc.by 1880.
