Hello Mary,
I just joined today, but I am a past sexton of a very large cemetery in Missouri & I may have a "headstone with an obit" for you....but its completely different than what you may expect. Its a white bronze monument with the paper obit, still inside from 1901! My fellow researcher & I have been on a quest for the past 8 months, to locate white bronze monuments & while we were out in Central Missouri, we came upon a cemetery that in fact had a white bronze in it, but it also had a small door & inside was the original paper obituary from 1901. I was shocked myself, but there is was, under a thick layer of glass. If you would like to know more about this or the cemetery we found it in, please write me directly at Jgreene148@netzero.com & I will see if I can come up with a photograph for you, in my extensive collection of photo's, since we are still going every Friday, to look for more white bronze & now the elusive porcelain monuments, I am writing a magazine article about.
Thanks, Jim
