Richard Rigby was my great uncle - albeit he died 24 years before I was born. As I understand it, the plane was shot down and the occupants survived this, only to be shot at point blank range by the German forces. I have some information in a box that I have had since the death of my Grandmother in 2006, she was his sister and talked about Richard often though not much about the war.

I have photographs of a visit that my mother and grandmother made to the graves in Combrit - where a ceremony was held - as I remember this was about 1990. I hope to visit the graves in Combrit - maybe this summer.
