You sound like a true blessing for this almost forgotten cemetery. It might be advisable to wear long pants with boots if you have them. If not, some really bulky socks might help. There may be a snake or two, most of which are harmless, still around. I am disabled and live far from your area so advice is all I can offer. A property must only be 50 years to qualify for the national registry which includes many cemeteries. If approved, a nice government sign will be put at the entrance. Sometimes grant money is available for projects. I am sure you could use the help. Please go to nps.gov/nr and click on quicklinks. From there you can get the instructions you need and get a good idea if you qualify. You might want to visit the library to see if there was anything of historical significance that took place in the area and include the information in the paperwork. Good Luck!
