Geneva Westmeier, 80, of Versailles passed away Saturday, June 17, 2006 at the Mercy Mt. Airy Hospital in Cincinnati. She was born in the St. Magdalene community near New Marion on January 18, 1926 the daughter of John and Margaret Kieffer. She was married to Aaron Westmeier on July 12, 1947 and he survives. Other survivors include one son Bill Westmeier and his wife Mary of Versailles; two daughters, Linda Hillman and her husband Terry of Connersville, and Pat Reese and her husband Paul of Milan; six grandchildren and two great-grand sons; two brothers, Arthur Kieffer of New Marion and Walter Kieffer of Versailles. She was preceded in death by her parents, her granddaughter Clarissa Westmeier, brothers Paul, David, and Martin Kieffer, and her sister Lucille Colley. Mrs. Kieffer was a member of the St. Magdalene Catholic Church and was a homemaker. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, flowers, and her grandchildren. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, June 21st at 10am at the St. Magdalene Catholic Church in New Marion with Father Frank Eckstein officiating. Burial will be in the Cliff Hill Cemetery in Versailles. Visitation will be Tuesday from 4pm to 8pm at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles with Rosary services at 7:30pm. Memorials may be given to the St. Magdalene Catholic Church or St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Olean in care of the funeral home. Clarissa L. Westmeier, 23, of Versailles passed away Monday, December 12, 2005 at the Margaret Mary Community Hospital in Batesville. She was born at Columbus on March 31, 1982 the daughter of William and Bennilee Phillips Westmeier. Survivors include her mother Bennilee Westmeier of North Vernon; her father William Westmeier and his wife Mary of Versailles; one brother Aaron Westmeier of Versailles; paternal grandparents Aaron and Geneva Westmeier of Versailles; maternal grandparents Lee and Wanda Phillips of Versailles; step-brother Vince Kieffer and step-sister Vanessa Kieffer both of Versailles; her boy friend Aaron Gorth of Versailles along with several aunts, uncles, and cousins. Clarissa was a 2000 graduate of South Ripley High School and was a community living instructor for Rest Care. Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, December 15th at 10am at St. John’s Catholic Church in Osgood with Father Frank Eckstein officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday, December 14th from 5pm to 8pm at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles with Rosary services at 7:30pm. Burial will be in the Cliff Hill Cemetery in Versailles. Memorials may be given to Rescue 69 in care of the funeral home
