I have only been there once and I have forgotten about how it is marked, but there is a very nice historical society and they also have a genealogy room with a number of things listed. They were extremely helpful when I visited it.
It is easy to find from Hiway 54, turn north on the main street--I don't recall how far but not very far from where you turn. You turn left then and it is a fairly new brick building on the north side of the street. It is across the street north from the court house. A gentleman working there even took me across the street to the court house to the right room to look at school records. Here is information how to contact them.
