I had just the opposite experience. We let them know 2 weeks in advance and the woman had all the information on the graves looked up and ready. She even took us to the grave sites and while we were there she had the work men dig up 3 gravestones and reset them for us. All were so courteous and friendly. The cemetery is well kept. We plan on returning this fall. It was a very emotional experience as I found graves of my ggggrandparents who I didn't know even came to America. Just don't expect them to help you without a call to them first.
