Methodist Churches and Cemeteries / Farm in Shelby & Monroe Counties

We are looking for Methodist churches that might not have been too far from Lakenan in the 1870-1920 era. Have heard of Kendall, Oakdale, Bacon Chapel. Have not been able to figure out where Bacon Chapel was, or how long it would have lasted. Talked to a Methodist minister recently and he said the records would have gone either to another church or archives.

Do any of these areas or names sound familiar to anybody? Does anybody have any suggestions?

Also the Phillips farm may have had property in Shelby and Monroe Counties. Have not quite figured it out yet. The house built near Lakenan is gone. There was evidently a log cabin before that. And supposedly Eugene C. built houses for each of his spinster sisters. We have found no verification yet of that story in terms of deeds or locations or any thing. We have looked mostly through Shelby County records, though not too thoroughly admitedly. And we have looked some in Monroe County. Nothing so far.

Any ideas:?
