Thank you for this information and also for replying to my request. Since I posted this request I have managed to trace Catharine and her husband on the 1881 Canadian cenus living in McGillivray, Middlesex County, Ontario, Canada.
By locating the 1861 and 1871 canadian cenus' I was trying to find out whether they had had any further children after their arrival in Canada which would also help me to try and narrow down the year in which the emigrated to Canada and then maybe find the record of their arrival in Canada.
