Danish grandfather

Classification: Query
Surnames: Hanson/Hansen
My father always said his father had come to England from Denmark as a young man, to look for work.
My parents were divorced & my father died in 1994.
All I know is my paternal grandfathers name was William Hanson. I believe he changed something in his surname to make it sound more English, so possibly the e to an o.
I have a copy of his marriage cert which tells me he was born 1901 & was a private in the Royal Tank Corps in 1927 when he married my grandmother. It also says his father was Henry Bernard Hanson, a Seaman. Possibly Henry was a middle name for my grandfather as my father was named Bernard William after himself & his father.
I think my father mentioned Copenhagen. But as he never met his paternal grandparents I can not be sure.
How can I possibly find any information? Any tips welcome.

Regards
Bernadette
