House number vs. dwelling number on census form

I'm confused over the distinction between "house number or farm" and "dwelling number" on the US census forms. For a couple of returns that I looked at, there are entries in both columns, so I'm unclear which one is the actual house number. Can someone explain the two fields to me? There is a third column listing order of houses visited. I just ignore that one.

I'm not sure these fields on all census forms. The one I'm currently looking at is 1910
