Scott. I found the census on ancestry.com as well as the info I am going to give you. I am sure that Helena/Lena was his second wife, couldn't find info on the second marriage or death of Maria. I found four baptismal records, all of which took place at St Boniface Church, Dubuque county, New Vienna, Iowa. 1. Carl Josephi Witte in July 1850, father Anton Witte and mother Maria Anna Bushelmann. 2. Johannes Antonius Witte in Apr 1853, father Antoni Witte and mther Mariae Agnes Boeschelmann. 3. Johannes Henricus Witte in May 1857, father Antonii Witte and mother Helenae (no surname). 4. Johannes Henricus Julianus Witte in Jan 1859, father Antonii Witte and mother Helenae [no surname). I did find a marriage for John Henry Witte in Clayton county in Sep 1884 in which he identified his parents as Anton Witte and Helena Longe. Hope this helps a little. Don
