I found one of the sons listed in the 1900 census with the same mother as previous and they show mother and son with the same lasts names as the previous census. So mother has Littler as last name and son has Johnson. On the 1880 census I did notice that up a few families from mine there was another family with "a son", but others on the same page just show "son". That's why I think perhaps they are wards of the Littler's. Also their ages are 22 and 17. If they had been adopted I would have assumed that they would have Littler as a last name. With such common lasts names, Johnson and Henderson, I'm having a hard time determining if I've found the right men on other census.
