this is a james a. jones born about 1871 who is in the 1880 attala county,ms census with his parents andrew m. and anna james jones and im asuming the james is his mothers maiden name, the census says she was born in alabama and andrew in mississippi and in the 1920 census your james a. jones has his mothers birth state as alabama and his fathers as mississippi, its possible anna james jones could of been a cousin to jesse or a coincidence in last names.also in the 1900 carroll county,ms census i find james a. jones with the same couple a.w. jones (a.m.)and a.j. jones (anna james)
i think this is the same james as your james because your james a. and rena jones are in the 1920 carroll county,ms census.
