Hello Clanton Family. I just found one of my old notes...

Here is my direct blood connection to Ike and Billy Clanton of the O.K. Corral fame...

Abbigail/Abigail/Abby/Abba Clanton, daughter of John and Lucy Clanton, b 17 Apr 1742... married Nathaniel Holt d by 3 Nov 1814, will probated Sussex Co., VA. Abby (Clanton) Holt is my 7th great-grandmother.

Henry Clanton was Newman Haynes "Old Man" Clanton's father.

Newman Haynes Clanton marries Mariah Sexton Kelso in Callaway County Missouri. Together they would have five sons and two daughters. John Wesley, Phineas Fay Clanton, Joseph Isaac "Ike" Clanton, Mary Elsie Clanton, Ester Ann "Hettie" Clanton, Alonzo Peter Clanton, and William Harrison "Billy" Clanton.

So, since Abby Clanton is the daughter of John and Lucy Ann Clanton... that makes Henry Abby's brother. Now, since Henry was Ike and Billy Clanton's grandfather... that makes Abby (Clanton) Holt the great-aunt of Ike and Billy Clanton.

Neat huh?

Looking forward to hearing from you cousins.
Peace and blessings.
Dolores Cobb Phifer
