Hi all,
I have just discovered the wife of my Bernard Cummins. Her name was Bedelia Le Strange. I have no idea where or when she was born. Bernard joined the RIC in 1833, at age 36, & was "of Kings". It has been impossible to find anything on either of them.

Patrick Keenahan RIC

Hi - I have a Patrick Kenehan whose RIC number was 34292. He joined the force on Apr. 9, 1868 and was 21 years of age at the time he joined. He retired from the force in 1898. He was from Galway West and it looks like he was married 3 times. His first wife was from King's County and they were married on Sept. 8, 1876. At the time of this marriage he was stationed in Co. Carlow. His second wife whom I am related to directly was Margaret Ann Carty who was born in Kilkishen, Co. Clare, around Sept. 2, 1854. Her sponsors were Edward Gavan and Bridget Gavan. I believe this Bridget Gavan maiden name might be Carty. Margaret married Patrick Birmingham (RIC) Jan. 22, 1879. Her witnesses to her marriage were Patrick Carty II and a Rosanna Maria Hanley. They had one son John Henry Birmingham who was baptised Jan. 6. 1880. Patrick Birmingham died Jan. 18, 1882. Eleven months later, Margaret married Patrick Keenahan on Dec. 26, 1883. At the time, Patrick was a constable in the town of Kilkishen, Co. Clare. Patrick and Margaret had 4 kids together. Thomas Keenahan was baptised Sept. 26, 1884; Michael Keenahan was baptised January 20, 1886; Evangeline Keenahan was baptised January 14, 1887 and Maria Keenahan was baptised December 29, 1887. All these children were baptised in Kilfenora, Co. Clare. Margaret Carty died around May, 1890. Finally Patrick Keenahan had remarried in Roscommon on June 29, 1891 in County Roscommon. As of 1883-1897, we know that Patrick Keenahan had owned a home near 1 Fort Eyre, Co. Galway. I am not sure if he had children with his first wife and his third wife. My speculation is he probably did. I do not know of any other offspring except for Margaret Carty's. Patrick was not a lessor of his home, he actually was the owner. My gr-grandfather Patrick Carty II (RIC) and gr-gr- grandfather John Hogan (RIC) lived very close to Patrick Keenahan. If any of these people sound familiar to you, I have tons more information. Thanks -Pat

I am looking for information om William Nesbitt. He was born in Co Offally about 1859 and joined the RIC in 1880. He was recommended by County Inspector Sheehan in Carrick on Shannon. His father was Hugh nesbitt and I think that he may also have been a member of the RIC. He was appointed to Co Clare and Galway and died in Monivea in 1907 whilst still in the service. He married Annie Kidd from Broadford Co Clare. I would appreciate any information which may help me to find more about William. Thanks

Imelda Lively

Valerie Turner, killed by her husband, Jack

Valerie Turner, my cousin, was married to Jack Turner, and they were living in Anglesey, Wales. I was heartsick to find that he killed her. I don't know what the circumstances were, but I would dearly love to know what happened. I don’t know when she died, but it would have been after 1973. I am searching for information on her children, my second cousins. They are Barbara, Kay, Heather and Andrew, all born around the 1960’s. Andrew passed away when he was 17. This family lived in Lancashire County (Oldham or Manchester), as well. I am lost when it comes to researching outside of the United States and I have wanted to find my cousins all of my life. Please, does anyone have any ideas?
