Now what do I do?

I received DNA results. The matches did include a 3rd cousin, I already knew he was related, but it was nice to know that he was match. As for the others, there are a few with 96% confidence. One even has a surname in common. Otherwise, I cannot tell whether they are related. If I try to contact them what do I say? It would appear that both of us are behind brick walls. What is the best way to proceed? It's my husband's line and the family kept very good records, so his tree includes the names of almost all his great-great-grandparents (assuming family records and my research are correct and all fathers were really the father) His father's side is Irish and all the surnames are very common.
