I am not Native American and there were no surprises on that, however a relative of mine is. He was surprised by his results. Like many others he felt the Native American was too low. They weren't extremely low but definately lower than expected. I know the documentation he has is very well done and he has close family members who still reside on a reservation in the Northwest. He was also surprised by at finding both Northern and Southern Native American. I have read a lot of the posts on this and many people with Native American have mentioned several other categories that surprised them such as the Asian category, the British Isles, etc.
I just read an item about a tribe in the area in which indicated that the Spanish were first in the area as early as the 1700's.
Also, Fort Ross in CA had early Russian travelers to the northwest.
This could help explain some things except that some information indicates that the results go much further back than this? I am not sure how to take that?
