I would definitely go with the Family Finder test at Family Tree DNA (FTDNA) in your situation. Not only will it tell you the percentage of various ancestries, but you'll also receive genetic matches with other people who are related. There are already a few people on FTDNA's forum with French-Canadian ancestry, and many more who've tested.
Unfortunately, the resolution down to tribal level isn't very good at any of the companies yet. For political reasons, Native American tribes are being advised against genetic testing. As a result, the only reference populations available are from Greenland, Mexico, and Central and South America.
As an additional incentive when testing with FTDNA (or 23andMe, but genealogy plays second fiddle there) is the opportunity to download your raw data and use it with many third-party utilities.
