I am thinking that my Finnish/Volga-Ural DNA comes from the Norman invasion of the British Isles. Normans or "North Man" were Vikings that captured land in Northern Europe. Particularly the second sons went to the British Isles with William the Conqueror because they would not inherit land from their fathers in France. One of my ancestors for instance was "Lord Delaware" who came to Jamestown Virginia. The family name is actually "West". The name De La Ware meant "of the West". After the Norman invasion, the West family was given land and title in England. But they were most definitely North Men.
