it will be interesting to see how this all works out as they move out of the BETA phase. FTDNA has me, correctly as French and Orcadian..Doug McDonald says my best fit is French, English and Basque, with most of the Basque being accounted for by being very old and isolated stock from southwest France. So, it's pretty clear to me that I don't have a Russian grandpa I didn't know about. Also, I have no Scandinavian or Eastern European from ancestry's analysis. Kind of a big leap...which could be justified if there was a Finnish or Russian non paternity event, but I'm pretty sure there isn't. I've been meaning to check out the article on Dienekes blog. That may have a good reason for it.
